    ours did awesome!!!
first, the plant takes in sunlight, co2 and water. then, it makes glucose from those and chlorophyll in the leaves. finally, it gives off oxygen as a waste product.

  3. 1. The plant takes in carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight.
    2. The chlorophyll turns sunlight into sugar called glucose which is their food.

Our terrarium didn't do well. We only had 1 plant and it wasn't so green.

How this works is the carbon dioxide water and snlight all forms to glucose in the plant for their food. Our terrariums turned out to be great.

My terrarium did well. Lots of clover grew and so did parts of the bean and pea plants. We saw a little bit of sprouting on the corn. But nothing in the dill or radish.

Sunlight, carbon dioxide and water come in the plant then carbohydrates form and chlorophyll makes the plant green and then oxygen is used as a waste product.

    ReplyDelete
  7. The sunlight energy pretty much keeps the plant going while the plant is being exposed to enough water and carbon dioxide, the oxygen is now released from the plant.
My terrarium did very well the radish, clover, and beans did the best.

  8. Sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water goes to the plants so carbohydrates are formed than oxygen is realesed. our terrarium is formed

Plant takes in sunlight and carbon dioxide. Forms and creates sugar(glucose) then gives off oxygen to people.
Our terrarium did pretty bad. We only had one plant sprouting.I wonder which fertilizer is good.

Photosynthesis starts when plants take in carbon dioxide and sunlight and make gulcose to live.and as a waste product it puts out oxygen.

Our plants did not grow as well as some oather ones but thear was little plant.
    ;.)

  11. The plant absorbs the sunlight. At the same time it takes in water and carbon dioxide. Once the plant has enough of each carbohydrates are formed. Then it lets out oxygen.

My groups terrarium did fine. I had some sprouts but not as much as some of the other groups.

    ReplyDelete
  12. First the plant takes in water, carbon dioxide, and sunlight. The clorophly then turns all of that in to food which the plant lives off of. Ohh it releases waste like oxygen from the process. Ours did great.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Photosynthesis starts out when the roots of a plant soak up water from the soil in the ground. Then it goes up through the stem to the leaves. Then the leaves absorb sunlight and store it as chemical energy. Then the leaves absorb carbon dioxide and they form a food called glucose which is for the plant. Lastly the leaves give off oxygen.

My terrarium did fairly well because it grew some pretty big plants but mostly small plants that you can barely see.

The picture represents that a plant inhales carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight to survive. Using part of these, the plant creates carbohydrates which is a sugar the plant uses as food which is called glucose. After the process, the plant produces a waste product which is oxygen.

My terrarium only has one plant growing and that is the radish. I think the other plants were not growing well because there wasn't enought soil. We may have even watered the plants too much. But we are hoping our fertilizer will fix our problems.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Step 1 Sunlight strikes on the plants leaves.

Step 2 - The plant breathsin carbon dioxide and lets in water through its roots.

Step 3 When the carbon dioxide is let in the cells move the CO2 through out the plant and forms carbs then the chlorophyll takes in the sulight

Step 4- Oxygen is let out of the plant.

Our terrium did good. We had a lot of growth with the radishes. A few clocers and a 2 bean plants. We did better than I thought.

1.The plant takes in sunlight, water, and Co2 and puts it into leaves which makes glucose,a kind of sugar. The plant then gives out O2 as a waste product.

Our terrarium did perfect but we had to remove the lid with holes because the plants then had no place to grow so instead we replaced it with tin foil to get more artificial sunlight.

They make many plants with water soil and all sorts of important things. And its a place where plants live.

    ReplyDelete
  19. i think our terrarium did really well because our plant grew pretty tall and they are really green.

-carbon dioxide, water, and the sun light make the plant grow carbohydrates and it releases oxygen for us.

    ReplyDelete
  20. we breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. The plants use the carbon dioxide, sunlight, and water(they get water with their roots) to make a sugar called glucose and releases oxygen as a waste product.

My terrarium did not do as well as i hoped all the radishes were growing fine. It was probably because we put more water into them then the rest. We changed from 75 ml to 100 ml. One green bean plant was growing well too.

  21. Hannah S.- CarpenterMarch 1, 2011 at 4:08 PM

On the picture it shows solar energy along with carbon dioxide and water entering the plant and its leaves to form carbohydrates and releasing oxygen.

our terrarium did very well, they grew dramatically!!!!! The clover was about 3 inches long!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The carbon dioxide and sunlight comes in the through the leaves. The water comes in through the roots. Then through a process called photosynthesis, carbohydrates are made and oxygen comes out as a waste product.

Our Terrarium did great. It had a LOT of growth with the beans, clover, dill, and the radish.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Leaves of the plant take in sunlight and carbon dioxide in order to make food

Then the leaves give off oxegyn for animals and people to breath

    Sunlight+Co2+Water=Plant food/oxegyn

    ReplyDelete
  24. The plant takes in sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to make food for itself. They turn into a kind of suger that is the plants food. It is called glutose. The waste(oxygen) that is devoloped in this process is released. We breathe in the oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide which the plant absorbs. Without plants, humans would not survive.

I thought our terrariums did pretty good. But the only thing I regret is that we might have put too much water. Our group did not pick the blue fertilizer because it might be too risky if we pick the bad one and ours were already growing pretty well without it. I hope we made the right choices in picking the things for our plants.

    ReplyDelete
  25. how photosynthesis works:the sun gives energy to the plants and releases oxygen that we breath in.
after we breath in the oxygen we release carbon dioxide.and it goes in a circle.
Our terrarium did not grow so much.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The picture above is descrribing photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process in which sunlight, carbon dioxide (c02), water, and chlorophyll are converted into oxygen that all living things on earth need to have in order to survive. Our terrariums looked like they did well. The plants had a light-greenish color and you could also see roots at the bottom of the terrarium. Overall, our plant grew well and I hope this week will have even better results.

    ReplyDelete
  27. the water comes through the roots and out to the leaves. each leaf is a factory that mixes water with carbon dioxide and sun to make its food and also oxygen.
    fine.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My group's plant was growing a little but at least it was growing.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Raymond Z.-Mrs.CarpenterMarch 1, 2011 at 5:05 PM

Photosynthesis is the process in which a plant creates glucose and oxygen. A plant takes in carbon dioxide and sunlight (energy). It also gets water through the water cycle or a human (like me and you) waters it. The plant then uses all these components to make sugar/food/glucose and gives off oxygen as a waste product. We then use the oxygen to live.
Overall, plants give us oxygen (through photosynthesis) and we, in return, give them carbon dioxide (when we breath out).

My table's terrarium was doing great! We did notice one thing. At first we had the lid on it, but we later thought it was bending our plants. We think when our plants where growing they didn't grow as high because they didn't have enough room. I looked around later and saw that the people with no type of top on it had taller plants.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It takes in sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to make carbohydrates and oxygen. My terrarium did HORRIBLY. Only one sprouted, and it was short and brown. We think it was because we did not water it enough.

    ReplyDelete
  31. nicholas H.-carpenterMarch 1, 2011 at 5:10 PM

first- A green plant gets water and nutrients from the soil.

second- It uses sunlight, carbon dioxide, water, and chlorophyll to create food.

Third- The food is made in the leaves.

    Fourth- plants give off oxygen.

Our terrarium did pretty good. so far, only the corn has grown from what I saw.

    ReplyDelete
  32. JoHannahV-BuckalewMarch 1, 2011 at 5:12 PM

First sunlight to give it energy then water and carbon dixoide then carbentraites form oxygen realesed photocynthyes is a repeted cycle over and over again....

    ReplyDelete
  33. Our terrarium did really good. Some of are dill grew. Our radish did really good, so did our clover. Only a few of our beans and our peas sprouted. Our corn did not grow at all yet. But besides our corn, we had a comment that our terrarium was one of the best in our class.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Reagan G~ MelanconMarch 1, 2011 at 5:12 PM

Well the process works because we give off what it needs and it gives off what we need so it's like a win for everyone!

    1. First we give the plant carboe dioxide
    2. It make's it's food with the carbon dioxide in the chrolphyll
    3. It gives off oxygen as "waste"

My plant did kinda well but it wasnt like WOW it was kinda low or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Carbon dioxide and water is absorbed by the plant and the carbohydrates aare formed and then oxygen is put into the air

    ReplyDelete
  36. Susan D.- Mrs. Rollins/ Mrs. BeanMarch 1, 2011 at 5:19 PM

Photosynthesis is the process of sunlight being transformed into food. First, the plant gets sunlight from the sun. The leaves take in the sunlight and transform it into glucose or plant food. The roots of the plant takes in water from the soil to turn into nutrients for the plant. During this process, plants also take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen.

My group's terrarium had some plants growing. Dill, radish, and clovers were growing. Today we added some fertilizer to help it grow.

    ReplyDelete
  37. The plant takes in sunlight energy and carbon dioxide and turns it into oxygen. The air we breath and animals do too!The plant also make carbohydrates also known as sugar.

Are terrarium turned out to be great, but half of are seeds did not grow yet.We had a big pack of seeds in one spot growing and 2 Bean plants growing. We took the lid off and put foil around the terrarium.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Taylor H -CarpenterMarch 1, 2011 at 5:37 PM

I think my terrarium did very well. I don't think that putting serene wrap will not help the plant because it will block the plant from growing.

Photosynthesis is basically the life cycle of a plant.
First the plant's seed is planted and takes in carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight. Then the plant sprouts up from the ground and a leaf or bean or whatever the plant is growing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Alice G .- BucklewMarch 1, 2011 at 5:54 PM

The way the picture works is the sun gives the plant the sunlight. After the plant gets the sunlight the plant mixes the sunlight up with some carbon dioxide the plant had inhaled us and water form the people watering the plants or the rain. When the sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water mixes up it makes glucose for the plant to eat.
Finally after the plant makes the glucose the plant exhales the oxygen coming from the process called PHOTOSYNTHESIS.
    I LOVE LAB !!!!!!!!!!!!

The sun feeds the plants and we give off carbon dioxide as it gives off oxygen to us. Out terrarium did good but it wasn't how I thought it would be. You can see the roots on the bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I think our terrarium is doing good because some of our plants are actually sproting one or two of our plants have not starting growing yet because we probaly did not add water to one side. Plants realesed oxygen then the plants use solar energy then carbon dioxide and water then the final process is where the carbohydrates is formed

    ReplyDelete
  42. My terrarium did great! Its plants witch was the clover and the beans grew the fastest. The clover already sprouted up! I was shocked. The beans did great to but it didnt grow hight but you could see the roots that were coming out the made it seem like it was about to srout up! i am very proud of are team and how great we worked together to make such a great start to are terrarium. I think also we were getting luck on what materials we used from the store. I think we used a just amount of water. I think we used foil that had holes through it that also made it really lucky. Overall i think are team is going to have a great looking terrarium. If we keep looking and identifying he right products to use. All energy starts with sun light. The sunlight helps plants grow and the plants release oxygen and help take in our carbon dioxide. Thank you Mrs. Rollin's for a great lab.

First, the plant gets carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight. Then, the plant grows and is healthy and green. Finally, the carbohydrates form on the plant and oxygen is released for us to breathe. My group's terrarium did really well and I think that our plants will grow healthy and strong.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nam Jook.carpenterMarch 1, 2011 at 7:02 PM

The picture works because it has all things it meeds. It has sunlight, carbon dioxide, while carbohydrates is formed. At the same time oxygen is released by the plant. I think my terrarium is just fine the way it is. I really hope it will work. :} Other thing is that I really love doing this. I can't wait for our bugs. (I really hate bugs) :{ Nasty

    ReplyDelete
  48. What happens first is that the sun gives off energy to then plant. Then, carbohydrates form, afer that the plant gives off oxygenthat we breath in. After that, we give off carbon dioxide that the plants use. Our terrarium had every plant growing perfectly fine.

    Dear Mrs.Rollins,
In the picture the process is showing the plant gathering sunlight, water, and CO2 for it's photosynthesis process and also realeasing oxygen for us to breathe.
Our terrariums were okay with a few plants growing little by little and some are still germanating but one I saw by Kendrick's group is that their grew a lot already.

Mine did great! A lot of plants grew! In the last blog post I did, I said that I thought I used too little water, but it turns out that I used the right amount.
Mrs. Rollins, you offered at the Terrarium Store a blue liquid fertilizer. There were different flasks with one good fertilizer in one flask, and a bad one in the other (at first, I thought the blue one was better). We used the one on the right because it was lighter and there was less liquid so it looked like you added something to the other one which made it worse. So I chose the lighter one.
    Terrariums are Terrific! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

    I love lab!

  57. Well I would say that my group did not do as good as a job as I would have hoped for but, we still got a little bit of growth.

All the water vapor in the air is going to the roots and is one of the things helping plants grow.A nother thing helping the plants is Carbon Dioxide we give off to the plants it's what I call giving back. The reason I say that is cause plants give us Oxygen and we give them Carbon Dioxide.

The sun's light gets captured. Then is made into chlorophil and then made into glucose. Carbon dioxide is then go into the plant and carbohydrates are formed. Then oxygen is released and we can then breathe

  69. I think ours was the best in our class we didn't get anything from the store the first week but the second week we got that blood ferterlizer we didn't want to take any risks of getting the blue ferterlizer.well the picture eplains how the plant grows and how they give us oxegen and that we breath in oxygen and let out carbon dioxide for the plants and not only that it shows the life cycle of a plant.
