Sedimentary

Igneous

Metamorphic

  1. Sedimentary-rocks that have many different layers of built-up sediments
Metamorphic-morphed from igneous or sedimentary by heat or pressure
Igneous-made when molten lava comes out of a volcano and hardens-has many holes in it

    ReplyDelete
  2. Sedimentary-Made of coral and eroded rock.

Igneous-Made of cooled magma and lava.

Metamorphic-Sedimentary and Igneous rocks that are put under high heat and high pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Igneous- the rock after lava cools down and turns solid.

Sedimentary- Rocks that are made from a period of layers and have small sediments that are broken down in them.

Metamorphic- a rock that was diffrent then how it looks today because of heat and pressure.

  4. Igneus is made of hardend lava
Sedimentary is formed when layers and layers of rock press down on each other
Metamorphic is made up of all 3 and are subjected to high heat and or pressure after deep burial

Sedimentary- is rock that forms over piriod of time, made of hardened sediments, broken down rocks, and other matirials. it is formed in layers. Igneous- rocks made from the heating and cooling of magma and/or lava. Metamorphic- rock made from pressure colideing two different rocks.

  6. Sedimentary is a rock that was formed by water. Like the ocean, lake and more. Rocks that are sedimentary are sandstone, limestone, and more.
Igneous is a rock that was formed by a volcano. Some igneous rocks are like obsidian, lava/scoria and mor.
Metamorphic rocks are rocks that are made up of all 3 types of rocks. Rocks like marble, gneiss and more. I love lab!!!! :)

Sedimentary rocks form over many layers. They are made out of hardened sediments from broken rocks or other materials. Igneous rocks are made when hot liquid such as magma or lava cools. Metamorphic rocks are rocks that are changed because of pressure or heat.

  8. Igneous rock are formed by the cooling of lava/magma. Sedimentary rock is formed over a period of time in layers. They are made of hardend sediments. Metamorphic rocks start as another rock and then changes when the to kinds of rocks get mixed together by heat and pressure.

  9. - sedimentary are formed of sand, shells, pebbles, and other materials.
-metamorphic rocks are formed under the earths surface from pressure.
-igneous rocks are made when magma cools and hardens.

Igneous rocks come from the matle of the earth , wich is comprised of molten rock. Sedimentary rocks are either made up of eroded rocks or from coral feefs in the ocean. Metamorphic rocks are made up of all three and are snbjected to high heat and or pressure after deep burial in the earth.

Sedimentary- Sedimentary rocks form over a period of time in layers. They are made of hardened sediments of broken down rocks or other materials.

Sedimentary-is formed when little bits of sediment is picked up and deposited in a lake or ocean etc. Then layers fill on top of it and then more layers and more and more and more until eventually it turns into rock.It usually has little bits of shell and dead sea life in it.

Metamorphic-is any rock that is put under more pressure than sedimentary and forms new rock like slate turning into shale and sandstone into quartzite.Igneous rock can also be pressured into a new rock.

Igneous-Say a metamorphic goes down too far and under heat and pressure it burns into magma(molten rock under the crust). So it floats around for a while and eventually comes out of a volcano. The lava(molten rock on the surface on the crust) then dries and turns into rock which water or wind carries away to another location to tun into sedimentary rock which etc. rock cycle.

Sedimentary rock is made by rock overlapping over time.

Igneous rock is made by lava cooling and hardening.

Metamorphic rock is made by pressure and heat.

  15. sedimentary-sedimentary rock is made up of sediments that have settled on each other and over time get pushed together.

Igneous-Igneous rock is formed by cooled lava or magma from within the Earth's crust

Metamorphic-Metamorphic rock is a mixture of both sedimentary rock and Igneous rock.

  16. Igneous-form by the cooling of hot liguid magma of lava

  18. Sedimentary rock is made when there are many layers that get pressed down and sometimes you can see fossils. Sedimentary rock is formed in oceans.

Igneous rock is formed when the magma spews out then becomes lava. The lava cools off and Igneous rock is born!

Metamorphic rock is created by the two different rocks-Sedimentary and Igneous. When it is very hot and lots of pressure Sedimentary and Igneous slowly turn into Metamorphic rock. An example is marble.

  19. Sedimentry Rocks :
Rocks that are made when sediments are pushed together and harden. They smell like mud whtn they are mixed with water

    Igneous Rock :
Igneous rock is formed by lava hardening to form a landform. They usually have holes in them and cool very quickly if the lava lands in water.

Metamorphic Rocks are cool rocks that form under lots of heat and pressure. These rocks were once igneous or sedimentry rocks.

Sedimentary - is broken down by wind/water. Sedimentary rock is formed in layer and pressure causes the sediment to become sedimentary rock.

Igneous - is formed by lava/magma cooling to form rock.

Metamorphic - is formed when heat/pressure inside the Earth forms the Metamorphic rock.

  22. The igneous rock is made of the cooling of hot liquid, magma, or lava.

Sedimentary rocks are simply found on the beach shore and they are made of sediments from other materials.

Metamorphic rocks are like power rangers. They turn into a diffrent rock over time!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sedimentary-Can make clay and is formed by the ocean

Igneous- Is a rock that came from a volcano ( left over magma)

Metamorphic- Is cool because it is made of all 3 rocks

    this lab was very FUN!!!!!!!!!

1.Sedimentary- Formed by fossles and sediments. The sediments are brought to a location through eroisn to form this type of rock.
2.Igneous- harden magma or lava. When lava dries it hardens and makes this type of rock.
3.Metamorphic-mix between both rocks above. This is formed near the Earth's core.

Igneous- Foremed by the cooling of lava.
Medemorphic- Pressure and heat rubbed together.

    ReplyDelete
  35. An Igneous rock is formed by lots and lots of pressure under the earth. They usually look like sponges because they have holes and they are red in color. A Metamorphic rock is also formed by under ground pressure. One of the rocks we saw today was white and very hard and it sunk when you dropped it in water and the other rock we looked at was mostly black and was not very smooth but also had bits of white and other colors and floated. A Sedimentary rock is formed by layers and layers of decomposing organisms. It was a crystal-like looking rock which was smooth with sharp edges and was black in color.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sedimentary - It is a rock that you know once putting it in water you can tell after it sinks.
Igneous - It is the rocks that are not bumpy like most rock it is moreof a smooth rock.
Metamorphic - It is a lighter rock it does NOT sink to the bottom like an ordinary rock does.
So thats my way of telling how you can figer out

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sedimentary - Rock made up of small pieces of dead plants and animals hardend over thousands of years into rock.

  41. Igneous is formed by when magma is cool enough to turn into igneous, sedimentary is formed when wind and water break rocks into small pieces, metamorphic is formed when heat and pressure deep inside the earth can cause igneous and sedimentary rocks change.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sedimentary rock is a type of rock that is formed by sedimentation of material at the Earth's surface and within bodies of water.
Igneous rock is formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava.

Today at the lab we learned about the rock cycle and we looked at the rocks with a magnifying glass. After that we try to see difference how the rock drops into the water and we try to figure out which rock belongs to sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks. Today was great day to learn in the lab!
